Since we are spending more time at home this year, having "physically distanced, socially together" visits, I wanted to ensure that my outdoor visiting space was extra cozy and warm.
If you follow along with the blog, you know I love front door wreaths! I love the sense of warmth and invitation that they create as you enter a home. I have a few year-round wreaths that I use, but often I plan and change my wreath to match the seasons.
This year for fall, I wanted to create a bit more of a darker-hued feel for the season, with moody purples, aubergine and wine (no pun intended!) tones. I incorporated multi-tonal greens, whites and natural elements into the decor instead of traditional oranges, yellows and reds. For flow and continuity, I carried this colour scheme from the outside decor (fall outdoor planter post here and fall harvest porch post here) into the inside fall decor (fall mantel and tablescape coming soon).

This Fall Harvest Wreath is very quick and easy to put together. All you need to put it together is 20 minutes and a few materials. I purchased all of the materials online from Michael's Craft Store, however you can find faux florals, pumpkins and floral picks anywhere - from the dollar store to florist shops. Throw in a bit of floral wire - and you've got yourself a stunning Fall Harvest Wreath!
Beautiful and simple, now that's my kind of fall wreath DIY!
Take care, stay cozy and don't forget your mask,

Fall Harvest Pumpkin Wreath
Materials
1 - 24" natural wreath
1 multi-colour pumpkin spray
1 neutral fall berry bunch
2 white berry stem picks
1 white pumpkin pick
1 roll green thin gauge floral wire
*glue gun (optional)
*2 orange grass sprays (optional - I decided not to use these, keeping the wreath more subtle)

Method
Lay your multi-coloured pumpkin spray on top of the wreath. I wanted my embellishments to be on the left side, so I started placing there.
Position the berry bunch below the pumpkins and adjust the placement so it looks like one long piece. Use a piece of floral wire to attach the spray and berry bunch together, wrapping it tightly around the stems.

3. Position both small white berry picks onto the joined pumpkin and berry spray in off-set manner. I placed the lower left pick behind the spray and the right berry pick raised upright. Use floral wire to attach both picks into desired position.

4. Now that your embellishment is complete, trim stem with sheers to desired length.

5. Use floral wire to attach top, middle and bottom of completed embellishment to wreath. If you would like to secure the embellishment further, flip wreath over and use a hot glue gun to attach embellishments from the back.

6. Attach wreath to door with a door hanger or Command Hook.

Wishing you a very happy harvest! Let me know if you create your own Fall Harvest Wreath, I'd love to see pictures.
Take care,
Krista xo
