The holidays are filled with the flavours of cranberry and spice. This cocktail, combines the two and is perfect for holiday celebrating. It's lightly spiced and a beautiful soft holiday colour. The egg white makes this cocktail frothy and elegant to drink!
I hope you enjoy this week's #cocktailoftheweek!
Remember, though, Santa is watching ;)
Enjoy,

Cranberry Sauced, a holiday cocktail adapted from @bittersandbrew
serves 1
Ingredients
2 oz Gin
1 oz fresh lime juice
1 oz cranberry syrup (*recipe below)
2-3 dashes Angostura Bitters
1 egg white
cranberries & rosemary sprig, garnish
Method
In a cocktail shaker add gin, lime juice, *cranberry syrup, bitters and egg white. Dry shake for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Add ice and shake until the tin becomes chilled on the outside. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with cranberries and rosemary.
*Cranberry Syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cut water
1 cup cranberries
*Optional: 2-3 whole allspice & 1/2 tsp cinnamon
In a small sauce pan, bring sugar, water and cranberries to a boil. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until cranberries begin to pop and become mush. Add spice 5 minutes before done. Remove syrup from heat and mash remaining cranberries with a fork. Pour syrup through a sieve and allow mixture to cool, then strain, keeping cranberry pulp for another use (see my Cranberry Orange Bundt Cake here soon). Refrigerate syrup until ready to use.
**This syrup is also wonderful mixed into a Cranberry Gin and Tonic (coming here soon).
Make sure to leave a Cranberry Sauced out for Santa, he's got a long evening ahead of him!
